Southwestern Energy understands that a good education can change a person’s life, so over the years we have participated in several programs that enhance opportunities for schools and students. Beyond our signature education programs, we’ve also established a math, science and technology program for school districts where we have operations in the Fayetteville Shale play.
Junior Achievement of Arkansas
 Our three-year partnership with Junior Achievement of Arkansas (jaark.org) connected our volunteers with more than 5,000 Arkansas high school students. In addition to learning the ethical decision making skills needed for making career and life decisions, students discover opportunities in the natural gas industry through a curriculum called “Exploring Energizing Careers.” Read more about it here.
University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton
Petroleum Technology program Our efforts to support higher education include a partnership with the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM), with a donation from Southwestern Energy used to help establish its new petroleum technology program. Southwestern Energy also actively contributes to the Fayetteville Shale Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to students preparing for careers in Arkansas’ oil and gas industry. www.uaccm.edu |
