On July 1, 2008, Southwestern Energy announced that it had closed the sale of its utility business, Arkansas Western Gas Company, to SourceGas, LLC. SourceGas paid the company approximately $230 million, which is subject to post-closing adjustments. As a result of the sale of the utility, the company is no longer engaged in any natural gas distribution operations.
