Southwestern's operations in East Texas provide the Company a low-risk, multi-year drilling program with significant production and reserve growth potential. The Company seeks to expand its position in East Texas through acquisitions and additional development opportunities.


 2007 reserves of 353 Bcfe equivalent (24% of total proved reserves). 2007 production of 29.9 Bcfe equivalent (26% of total production).

Southwestern is currently focusing its drilling activity in the Angelina River Trend area on the James Lime where, as of March 31, 2008 it had four operated wells on production which had gross initial production rates ranging from 5.0 to 14.4 MMcf per day. As of March 31, 2008, Southwestern’s net production from the James Lime is approximately 12 MMcf per day including production from five outside-operated wells.

 In 2008 Southwestern plans to invest approximately $122 million in East Texas, where it expects to drill approximately 40 wells, including approximately 21 net wells in its Angelina River Trend area.
   Strategy: Production and reserve growth from development drilling.
