An entry level Landman is responsible for a wide range of in-house and field land activities. Specific areas of responsibility will vary depending upon the particular job assignment, but general responsibilities may include activities involving prospect acquisition, negotiation and preparation of various joint venture agreements including joint operating agreements and farmin/farmout agreements, producing property acquisitions/divestitures and the administrative necessities of performing land work. Multiple projects will often need to be managed simultaneously. Each Landman will be assigned a mentor who will oversee specific projects and serve as a technical resource.
The Land Intern will be exposed to a wide range of in-house and field activities including title checks, lease acquisition, basic negotiation and preparation of joint venture agreements and will gain experience in the administrative necessities of performing land work. The position will also be exposed to the basics of the lease records and division order functions. Multiple projects will often need to be managed simultaneously. You will be assigned a mentor who will oversee specific projects and serve as a technical resource.
